Mystery Garden

(September)
We planted two garlic gardens this year filled with different varieties. We used old barn manure, our compost, leaves and straw and watched the fall planted bulbs pop up through all the organic goodness.

As spring turned to summer we also started noticing several plants that were not of the garlic family. Some were weeds of course...but what is a "weed" ?! Some actually taste good!!! Once we saw Lambs quarters and Purslane growing we decided to let them grow and save them for a later harvest. By the time we pulled up all the garlic in July we had an entire new garden growing and we never planted the first seed.

God planted for us several tomato plants, acorn squash, potatoes, zucchini, and several baskets full of other wild edible things.
