A Little Help From Friends

(July) My brother, his family and some of our friends surprised us this past Sunday. They showed up early in the morning with paint brushes, buckets, and motivation. The interior of the old farmhouse is mostly wide Poplar planks and we are planning to smooth the walls with a couple coats of polyurethane. If Sharon and I would have tackled this project by ourselves it would have probably taken us a week to just get the first coat on everything. What a difference it makes when you have extra hands to help.

We each picked a spot and started. We laughed, talked, sang with the radio and had such a wonderful time being together. And what an accomplishment. By the afternoon we had the entire first coat on. We topped the day by following them back over to my brother's house and splashed around in their new pool, played volleyball and had a BBQ. We hated for the day to end. I am so grateful for good family, kind friends, and the memories we make together.
