I Have A Dream

(June)
I had a dream last night that I woke up early in the morning and rode one of the horses around the farm. It was such a vivid dream and I think I pressed rewind in my mind several times and played it over and over. By the time the sun began to flicker through the morning mist and the first songs of our feathered friends echoed through the valley, I woke up, knew my destiny, and was on my way to the barn.

I saddled up one of the three year old colts and after a thirty minute or so training lesson in the corral we headed out. Together we traveled up the valley and took one of our newer riding trails that lead up to the ridge tops. The view was breathtaking as always. It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful these Cumberland Mountain foothills can be. By the time we made our way back down into the hollow I could smell the drifts of breakfast floating along on the morning breeze. I stopped by our Mulberry tree and picked up a couple handfuls of these delicious treats to go along with breakfast. Of course Mac had to have a handful too. We took the last stretch of our ride to the barn in an open run. I tightened my legs, pulled down my cowboy hat, and couldn't help but notice something. I was smiling from ear to ear.....and so was Mac. I guess we both had the same dream last night.
