Just
Who Are These Butterflies

The two
kinds of flutter-bys that make up these large colonies are Hackberry
and Tawny Emperor Butterflies. This flux of butterflies only lasts
for about two weeks and then they slowly fade to comfortable numbers
as well as become more diverse among other types that come here each
year for all the hillside wildflowers.

Each season we look forward to seeing our fluttering friends. So far
they have been like clockwork and start arriving sometime around the
last week in May. They do add so much, color, conversation and character
to our place. Eventually you kinda get used to having at least ten
on you at all times leaving butterfly kisses on your arms and neck.
